Terms & Conditions
 

1. Lesson Package & Payment Terms

1.1 Lessons are purchased in blocks of 8, 12, 16 or 24 in advance.

1.2 Full payment must be received prior to scheduling the first lesson of each block.

1.3 Upon receipt of payment, the Teacher will:

  • Issue a receipt confirming payment; and

  • Provide a written schedule confirming lesson dates and times.

1.4 Lessons must be used within 12 months of the first scheduled lesson unless otherwise agreed in writing.

1.5 Fees are non-refundable once a lesson block has commenced, except at the Teacher’s discretion.


2. Scheduling & Time Zones

2.1 Lessons will take place online via Zoom or Google Meet.

2.2 Each lesson will last either 30 minutes or 1 hour depending on the purchased package.

2.3 Lesson times will be agreed in writing and confirmed in both the Teacher’s time zone (UK time) and the Student’s local time.

2.4 Missed lessons due to time zone misunderstanding will be charged in full.


3. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

3.1 A minimum of 6 hours’ notice is required from either party to cancel or reschedule a lesson.

3.2 Where at least 6 hours’ notice is given, the lesson will be rearranged at a mutually agreed time.

3.3 If the Student fails to attend a scheduled lesson without providing at least 6 hours’ notice, the lesson will be charged in full and will not be rescheduled.

3.4 The Teacher will send reminder message(s) prior to the lesson. Where the Student does not attend and the Teacher can provide evidence of reminder messages sent before the lesson start time, the full lesson fee will be charged.

3.5 If the Teacher cancels without proper notice, the lesson will be rescheduled at no additional cost.


4. Technical Requirements

4.1 The Student is responsible for:

  • Reliable internet access

  • Suitable device and software

  • Being logged in on time

4.2 Lessons missed due to technical issues on the Student’s side will be charged unless proper notice has been given.


5. Safeguarding & Child Protection (Under 18s)

5.1 The Teacher is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young learners.

5.2 Online lessons will:

  • Be conducted via secure platforms;

  • Not be recorded without prior written consent;

  • Be conducted professionally at all times.

5.3 For Students under 18:

  • A Parent/Guardian must provide written consent.

  • A Parent/Guardian must be contactable during lesson times.

  • The Student must participate from a suitable learning environment.

5.4 If safeguarding concerns arise, the Teacher reserves the right to suspend or terminate lessons and may report concerns to appropriate authorities in the relevant jurisdiction if necessary.


6. Parental Consent (Under 18s)

By signing this Agreement, the Parent/Guardian confirms that:

  • They consent to their child participating in online lessons.

  • They accept responsibility for payment of fees.

  • They understand and agree to the cancellation policy.

  • They consent to communication for scheduling purposes.


7. Recording & Online Safety

7.1 Lessons will not be recorded without prior written consent.

7.2 Where recordings are made for educational purposes:

  • They will be stored securely;

  • They will not be shared publicly;

  • They may be deleted upon request unless required for safeguarding purposes.

7.3 Students may not record lessons without written consent from the Teacher.


8. Data Protection & Privacy

8.1 The Teacher will collect and process personal data (names, contact details, payment information) solely for the purpose of providing tutoring services.

8.2 Data will be stored securely and will not be shared with third parties unless legally required.

8.3 As the Teacher is based in the United Kingdom, data is processed in accordance with UK data protection standards.

8.4 By entering into this Agreement, the Student (and Parent/Guardian where applicable) consents to the international transfer of personal data to the United Kingdom for the purpose of delivering services.


9. Intellectual Property

9.1 All teaching materials provided by the Teacher remain the intellectual property of the Teacher.

9.2 Materials may not be reproduced, distributed, or shared without written permission.


10. Limitation of Liability

10.1 The Teacher shall not be liable for:

  • Indirect or consequential loss;

  • Internet or platform outages beyond the Teacher’s control;

  • Currency fluctuations or bank charges.

10.2 Liability shall not be excluded where it would be unlawful to do so.


11. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
